MANGOSAT GLOBAL FIELD SERVICES

Mangosat provides cost efficient, professional and reliable network implementation & support solutions to emerging markets and beyond.

Mangosat Field Services

At Mangosat, we use the term “field services” to refer to any services that are related to implementing, managing and optimising our customer’s services and/or equipment that is on (end-)customer premise, i.e. in the field.

Mangosat has true global coverage and therefore, immediate access to technical and non-technical resources through independent but very loyal partners in over 140 different countries.

Our Importer of Record (IoR) and Customs Compliance Services combined with our Last-mile Connectivity Solutions and Mangosat’s regulatory, implementation and maintenance services allow our clients to have access to truly global reach with one point of contact.

Mangosat Field Support Options

All our field service options have their own pros and cons, risks and cost structure.

At Mangosat, we understand better that our clients have their strict contractual obligations, other visions, and high expectations. Therefore, in order to meet client’s exact requirements Mangosat offers a very flexible service and various options of field support to choose from:

  1. The use of local (in-country) resources. This is by far the most flexible option hence our preference. Unfortunately, not always possible.
  2. We fly-in foreign staff. A typical solution if local support is not available, not up to standard, or simply too expensive.
  3. We fly-in skilled supervision to work with our local support.

Important note: at any time, the level and quality of field service is a trade-off between RISK and OPEX but always a choice. Click the button to learn more about the pros and cons of using local support and its associated risk and cost structure compared to fly-in support. The only thing we’re asking our client is to realise and acknowledge this fact before making any critical implementation decision.

Mangosat Field Services Global Coverage

Mangosat has true global coverage and therefore, immediate access to technical and non-technical resources through independent but very loyal partners in over 140 different countries.

For those countries or regions where Mangosat has yet not contracted local Field Service Representatives (FSR), Mangosat will either use its regional representative or dispatches its own staff.

Mangosat prefers to use (in-country) local Field Service Representatives (FSRs). This however is not always possible, desirable or cost efficient. It absolutely does not mean that Mangosat cannot deliver services in countries (or remote locations) where skills are required but no local support available.

On the contrary, the company has access to Mangosat employees, partners and associates who are well trained and very much used to do their jobs in remote, harsh or hard to reach locations.

Mangosat believes that its valuable resources should not be exposed to health and safety risks more than reasonably practicable. We think this is a fair requirement.

Therefore, it may happen that for certain job locations extra security is required which will be charged back to client if not arranged (and paid for) by client upfront. In addition, for end-users, operating in unsafe (remote) areas, client will be asked to provide – or arrange for safe transportation where publicly hireable transportation is difficult, involves a risk or is simply not available.

Mangosat is committed to complying with the sanctions laws and regulations of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) and the United States (US), as well as all applicable sanctions laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which we operate or you want us to operate.

Mangosat maintains a standard Sanctions Policy and Sanctions Economic Standards that define the minimum standards in which Mangosat and its related companies must comply with to meet the above obligations. This includes:

Mangosat understands that travel costs and travel time can constitute an ugly substantial portion of the total service charge. Whatever we try or do, there are always a number of unexpected – and sometimes hidden – costs that can quickly spike the total amount of a trip to an uncomfortable height: an unexpected, unpleasant, and underestimated surprise – one is forced to deal with.

A little awareness (doing business in Africa is expensive) and wise pre-planning can help eliminating the worst of these unexpected travel costs.

Mangosat Field Services Management is the process of coordinating all of the operations related to our field activities, such as scheduling service, dispatching technicians, tracking job status, monitoring and support and of course administration.

To meet requirements and SLA, Mangosat draws extensively on locally sourced suppliers and subcontractors. We call them Mangosat Field Service Representatives (or FSR), and they are our most strategic asset.

Without our FSRs it would be very difficult to support our customers and clients world-wide. Using Mangosat FSRs to work on one or more (short-term) projects has proven to be beneficial in terms of cost, quality, and efficiency.

Mangosat Field Service Representatives

The expertise of Mangosat’s Field Service Representatives (FSRs) is at the core of our success. Our FSRs are local independent businesses operating in-country. They have a proven record of technical and (if required) regulatory expertise.

Our global FSR network aids customers in several and often simultaneous site implementation related activities including but not limited to the following jobs:

  • Site survey, installation, (preventative) maintenance and repairs.
  • Importation and customs assistance (if required).
  • Regulatory matters (if required).
  • Civil works (if required).
